The United States has more important connections with Latin America and the Caribbean than with any other region.
In a rapidly changing world, we share language, values, culture and economic interests. The Western Hemisphere has a population and economy of over 1 billion people worth more than 37 trillion dollars. We grow enough food and produce enough vital minerals to sustain every country in the Western Hemisphere. Our region, America, has the potential for exponential growth, but harnessing that potential requires new approaches.
U.S. policymakers have always put our hemisphere on the back burner. This neglect has led to inconsistent US policy. We can no longer afford to ignore the Western Hemisphere. China realized this and used our absence to expand its influence and destabilize fuels in the region. This political instability and economic insecurity are the main drivers of immigration to the United States.
Is freedom fostered in Latin America? Many signs point to YES
Our Americas Act will bring about real change throughout the hemisphere. Creates the Partnership of the Americas to expand U.S. trade and markets in Latin America and the Caribbean. At the same time, it counters the unequal playing field that China has created through forced labor, deceptive trade practices, and manipulation of critical supply chains.
The Inter-American Partnership unites the democracies of the Western Hemisphere to fight corruption, strengthen democracy and the rule of law, harmonize standards, reduce barriers to foreign direct investment, and build substantial private sector large-scale infrastructure. This will encourage investment. In addition, inter-American law provides tax incentives for companies in strategic industries to reclaim critical supply chains from China. To improve upon the existing successful financing system, the Americas Act creates a Build Americas division within the Development Finance Corporation, an investment bank tailored to strengthen the hemisphere’s critical investment needs.

The four of us represent different regions of the United States. But everyone knows that the United States must support the development of the hemisphere for more substantial and lasting cooperation with the liberal democracies of Latin America and the Caribbean. This increases stability and reduces the impact of gangs, crime, and the dangerous inner workings of the global underworld. For every dollar we trade within the hemisphere, we grow more prosperous and create lasting jobs in the United States and across the hemisphere. In the process, we will counter China.
The Inter-Americans Act establishes a special U.S. Customs and Border Protection enforcement force to remove forced Uyghur labor from shared supply chains and creates programs to promote Latin America’s energy transition and security.
The American Act also builds on already strong connections among the people it supports, including expanding scholarship programs, creating new American universities in the region, funding English language education, and establishing new CARE visas. Improve. Connecting our country.

Perhaps most importantly, our program is fully paid. It costs as much as the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) takes to trade by exploiting trade loopholes. 6 billion packages without paying customs duties or taxes. The deal, known as “De Minimis,” has been under the radar for far too long, but it is the most egregious multitrillion-dollar free trade agreement with China.
American law is underpinned by the Western Hemisphere’s common commitment to freedom, democracy, and opportunity. It will be the basis for us to build a stronger hemisphere.
