With the release of iOS 18, RCS (Rich Communication Service) messaging is now available on iPhones. This new feature allows you to send uncompressed images between your iPhone and Android devices, greatly improving the quality of your shared photos. Make sure you update your device to take advantage of this feature.
Update iOS:
I’m going setting > General > Software Updates. Download and install iOS 18.
Enable RCS messaging:
open settingS> App > message. Tap RCS messaging, toggle-on RCS messaging.
However, to enable RCS, both devices must support it and may not be available immediately on all carriers.
Adjust your iPhone settings:
Change your iPhone camera settings to use a more compatible format. I’m going setting > camera > format Select Most compatible Instead of “high efficiency.” This will make your photos captured by your Android device in a more easily readable format.

If “Low Quality Image Mode” is enabled for iMessage on your iPhone, this can cause your photos to have a lower quality when sent to your Android phone. Here’s what you need to do to turn off the low quality image mode:
- It will open setting iPhone app.

It is important to remember that turning off the low quality image mode will cause your iPhone to save images to its original file size. This means they take up more space on your iPhone and Android phone where you send images.
