Donnie Wahlberg and Sonequa Martin-Green spoke with “Extra” about the new “Blue Bloods” spinoff “Boston Blue” at CBS Fest ’25!
The actor recreates his role as Danny Reagan in the series. Danny has a job at the Boston Police Department and is partnering with Lena Silver, played by Martingleen.
Sonequa shared Donnie with herself. “The friendship is already solid. We met and soon became friends.”
She added the show. “I know that we provide what people need. I think it’s optimism, hope and family. And I think that’s good for people.”
Donnie said, “I think it’s an incredible opportunity. I love Reagan’s family, the viewers loved Reagan’s family, and it’s gone. And here’s the opportunity to get it back.”
Wahlberg continued, “I got it. I get the responsibility and I take it very seriously. I do everything I can as an actor or producer on the show.
The new kids at the Brocksinger are bullied by hinting at several cameos and updating fans about what has happened since “Blue Bloods.”
He played Koi about the cameo possibilities and said, “I know a lot, but I’m not going to say any of them!”
The star also teased several storyline updates, saying, “There’s a lot going on at the end of “Blue Blood.” Since then, we need up-to-date information on what’s going on… that’s it. ”
Donnie insisted, “I know what the fans want, so I won’t let them down.”
“Boston Blue” is heading for its fall 2025 CBS premiere.
