Olivia Munn glowed on the red carpet at the NYC premiere of “Your Friends and Neighbors” on Tuesday night.
“Extra” spoke with Olivia. Olivia praised her husband, John Mulany, for caring for her two children in Los Angeles.
Mulaney also works on the Netflix show, so he’s doing his double duty.
Olivia said, “He’s doing great things. He sent me a video of me and my son Malcolm on set today, so Malcolm loved his dad so much. It’s so sweet dynamic.”
“He can do it all! He has the bandwidth,” Olivia gushed. “That’s really amazing. He did live weekly shows on Netflix, lived globally, took his son to school in the morning to read scripts, developed shows, developed shows.
Has John still seen “Your Friends and Neighbors”?
Mann said, “I don’t think he’s seen it yet. I have to ask him… I’m press non-stop, he’s doing his Netflix shows and he has a baby, so there’s a day we’re texting and where are they. [we] I don’t think he’s seen it yet, as he can’t even deliver each other over the phone. ”
When Olivia is at home, she has Malcolm watch John on TV! She commented, “When it went live on Wednesday, I put it on TV and sometimes I might not.” [want to]so I turn it off and he says, “No, no. I want to see daddy.” So he doesn’t see it, but he likes to hear his voice in the background. ”
Olivia also spoke about taking on the role of Sam Levitt in “Your Friends and Neighbors” and about drawing her into the project.
She said, “A few things. When I got the call that there was this Apple TV show, it was very flattering. Already you say, “Apple is doing really great,” and they say, “It’s Jonathan Tropper.” I love his work, it’s an amazing novel, John Hamm… It was the first three contacts, and when they said that they had this role in mind for me and that they had no casting anyone other than John yet, they said, “If you want it, it’s like you, and that’s it, I’ve cheered me up… And I love the world so much.
Mann said, “My character is on a cliff where he loses everything, and so is John. I love that dynamic thing. We both love how it’s falling apart.”
Olivia also placed emphasis on the show’s love scene, admitting that she has some nerves about the scars caused by cancer surgery.
She said, “The dynamics between my character and John Hamm’s character are very sexual dynamics. That’s what they are tied up. That’s the basis of the relationship. So it’s really important that we show that.
Mann continued. “But I was nervous because I had scars. I have a double mastectomy scar. I have a scar from a lymph node dissection. I have a scar that had been ovarian/hysterectomy. Out, I realized I was more unstable before I had a double mastectomy.”
She said, “I’m very proud of my body for letting me know this. Jonathan Topper and John are just amazing people like amazing people, there’s a lot of empathy and caring, and I felt so protected, looked upon and cared for.”
Olivia’s scars are not actually visible on the show, but they are in her Skims campaign. That’s why she wanted to do it to help others!
She said, “I met not only other women who have the same scars, but my daughter and sons. I say I’m seeing my mother who has it and now I see my mother’s scars. So I’m not worried about such scars.
