Colin Jost and Michael Che are expecting even more wild moments behind the “Weekend Update” anchor desk as “Saturday Night Live” celebrates its 50th season on Sept. 28.
The show chatted with “Extra’s” Mona Kosar Abdi about what to expect from the show, especially with the US presidential election approaching.
Michael said: “It’s the 50th anniversary so I know all this time something amazing is going to happen and this is going to be that year. I’m excited.”
Collin called it a “year-long celebration.”
Mona asked about the election and who would be playing Donald Trump and Kamala Harris this season, to which Choi replied, “Oh, that’s a good question.”
When she pressed Jost on whether he would play J.D. Vance, he laughed and said, “No way.”
They also spoke about their upcoming Peacock comedy special, “New York After Dark,” which will air on Thursday, September 12th.
“We’ve got some really interesting people coming in and they’ll be doing most of the heavy lifting, but we’ll be doing the heavy lifting as well,” Michael said.
“I’ll lift one weight,” Colin joked.
