On Friday, Celine Dion made her long-awaited return to the stage at the opening ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Dion closed the event by taking to the stage on the Eiffel Tower’s balcony and performing a powerful rendition of Edith Piaf’s “L’amour.”

Accompanied by a pianist, Dion wore a Dior turtleneck dress and showed off her trademark singing voice, reverberating along the Seine.
Kelly Clarkson reacted to Dion’s performance, which aired live on NBC, with an emotional Clarkson saying, “I’m speechless…To have that moment, she’s a vocal athlete…it’s unbelievable.”
After the performance, Celine Instagram “I am honored to perform tonight at the Paris 2024 Opening Ceremony. I am so happy to be back in one of my favorite cities! Most of all, I am so happy to be able to celebrate these incredible athletes and their stories of sacrifice and determination, pain and perseverance.”
She continued, “You’ve all worked so hard for your dreams and whether you go home with a medal or not, I hope that being here means your dreams have come true. You should all be so proud. We know how hard you’ve worked to be the best you can be. Stay focused and keep working hard. My heart is with you all!”

There were rumors that Dion would duet with Gaga, but that never happened.
Instead, Gaga kicked off the celebrations two hours earlier with a cover of Gigi Jeanmaire’s “Mon truc en plumes.”
That same day, Dion was spotted wearing a $7,000 Dior tracksuit.
