As America turns its attention to Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans, we veterans and military families will launch Military 250, a unified nation campaign commemorating the 250th anniversary of the US Army, Navy and Marines. I’m proud to be there. This initiative celebrates military history and the enduring values that make America great: service, sacrifice, pride of citizens.
Before the American Patriots declared our independence in 1776, the founders fought and gathered the sacrificed army, navy and marines to gain our freedom. So, President Donald Trump recently formed before celebrating the 250th anniversary of America in 2026. White House Task Force To coordinate our plans, we would like to honor the service of those who helped us achieve our independence.
The Military 250 Campaign officially recognizes 250 veterans and military service organizations, with 250 leaders continuing their services, 250 acts of service, and actions from everyday people strengthen America By showing that it is, it shines a spotlight on key moments in American history.

The journey to these historic milestones over the next 18 months will pause and look back on our country’s past, respecting the contributions of all Americans, and hope to create for the next generation and beyond. It’s an opportunity to look ahead towards the future. Through these moments and more, the Military 250 reminds us that patriotism is more than just a concept. It is a practice rooted in our daily actions.

When the US Army announces record number of recruits, the Military 250 is a challenge for all Americans. How do you proceed with this legacy of service? For military families and veterans, this may mean taking on opportunities for local civic leadership or leading others through veteran services organizations. For others, it could mean volunteering, voting, and even serving as a voting worker.

In our veterans and military families, we have seen how the everyday behavior of patriotic participation can transform our community. They cultivate connections and remind us of shared values that connect us. Based on the universal values of service and sacrifice, this campaign offers people from all corners, including community organizations, athletes, sports executives, business leaders, everyday Americans who want to celebrate the best of our country. I’m collecting them. To celebrate our past and chart new courses towards the next frontier.

This campaign is more than a memorial, and it reminds me that patriotism needs more than waving the flag on Independence Day. It embodies the courage, service and unity that has defined our nation for 250 years. As President Ronald Reagan reminded us, “Freedom is fragile and never more than a generation away from extinction.”
