SHARON, Pennsylvania (WKBN) – The Community Food Warehouse is busy preparing their annual fundraiser, Empty Bowls. The dinner helps fund their efforts to feed those in need.
This Thursday, the community food warehouse is hosting an empty bowl dinner this Thursday.
Annual events are unique and provide an experience for attendees.
Each guest takes home a handmade bowl. Meals are simple, soup and bread. The organizer says the sentiment behind the meal reflects the mission of Food His Pantry.
“We show community members how people facing hunger sleep at night. Maybe this is what other people facing hunger eat and sleep at night. It’s just a small meal to show them how they are.
Alexis hopes that many people will come, as many people have expressed interest. .
“It’s going to be a really fun time with friends. Just come and have fun. All proceeds go back to the food bank, which means we’ll buy more food again and give the food back to them.” They are facing food insecurity,” Spencerock said.
Empty bowls are in the Corinthian Banquet Hall on Thursdays from 4-8pm.
Additionally, there will be a cash bar, basket raffle, live entertainment and a silent auction.
