Ethan Slater wore an emerald city green outfit to the Los Angeles premiere of Wicked and chatted with Extra’s Melvin Robert on the carpet.
Melvin confessed that he has become a fan of “Wicked” ever since he saw “Wicked” in 2005, and asked, “What does it mean for you to have this opportunity?”
The actor says playing the munchkin boy “meant the world to me. I also saw ‘Wicked’ in 2004. Not that it’s better than you, but I watched it in 2004 and have watched it about 6 times since then. I took my nieces to see it, my niece went to see it for her first Broadway show. That meant so much to me that I actually auditioned for my role in Wicked in 2013 and didn’t get it, but that was okay. ”
he continued. “But now, to be part of this family, to be part of this legacy, and to be able to play against me, it meant a lot.”
Ethan raved about Cynthia Erivo, who plays Elphaba and Glinda in the film, and his real-life girlfriend Ariana Grande.
“They’re amazing. They’re a powerful force and they’re like the voice of a generation,” he exclaimed. “We all know how great singers they are. Even though you think they are completely different singers, when they sing together they sound like one voice, but that’s their beautiful voice in this movie. It’s like a metaphor.”
He added, “They’re really well-connected actors and really generous scene partners, and it was just like a master class working with them. I felt like I learned something with every take between the two of them.” I did.”

Mel asked Ethan what he knows now about the show after being in that world for the past few years and filming two movies.
Slater replied: “It may be a little silly, but we know that all the characters are struggling with the same feelings of loneliness, of feeling different, and not knowing how to deal with it.” As it goes, it’s just a thing.” About how people deal with it in different ways and make different choices, some good, some bad, but deep down they’re all about the same thing. I’m working on it. ”
“Wicked” will be released on November 22nd.
