Disney has shared new updates on the construction and renovation timeline for Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.

According to a new construction update notice for Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort: Walt Disney World websiteConstruction and renovation of the resort hotel is scheduled to continue until 2026.

Before you visit, please be aware of ongoing construction and renovation works.
Construction and renovation until 2026
Construction is currently underway to prepare for expansion of Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows.
Additionally, some resort hotels are undergoing renovations.
You may hear noises and sounds from construction and renovation work during the day from now until 2026. Ongoing renovations may disrupt the look of the theme park and surrounding areas. To minimize disruption during your stay, activities that may generate noise will begin after 9 AM.
Renovations are subject to change based on operational needs and weather conditions.


While the notice doesn’t reveal what exactly is being done, among the work cited as happening at the resort hotels is a new Island Tower that Disney Vacation Club plans to build at Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows. Set to open in December 2024, the new tower will take guests on a “storytelling journey that brings the spirit of Polynesia to life.” Check out the latest construction updates.
