Days after her director husband Jeff Baena died by suicide, Aubrey Plaza is breaking her silence.
In a statement obtained by people magazineAubrey said: “This is an unimaginable tragedy. We would like to thank everyone for their support. Please respect our privacy during this time.”
On Sunday, Plaza was absent from the Golden Globes, despite being announced as a presenter last week.
Although Aubrey wasn’t in attendance, Jeff was mentioned in the acceptance speech of “Brutalist” director Brady Corbett, who won Best Director at the star-studded ceremony.
Brady concluded his victory speech by saying, “My heart is with Aubrey Plaza and Jeff’s family tonight.”
Plaza and Baena have been a couple since 2011, but she kept their relationship a secret from the public.
