Disney Parks has sent us this full ride POV video of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, the replacement attraction for Splash Mountain, which is set to open at Walt Disney World on June 28, 2024 and at Disneyland later this year, but before then, the video takes you on a journey through the attraction.
You can check out The full ride POV video of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure can be found here. This includes experiencing Splash Mountain’s improved iconic 50-foot drop, seeing Audio-Animatronics of new and existing characters, hearing snippets of the latest track “Special Spice” by PJ Morton and songs sung by Princess Tiana’s voice actress, Anika Noni Rose, and more.
“Join Princess Tiana and her jazz-loving alligator, Louie, on a glittering bayou journey as they prepare for lively celebrations during Mardi Gras season,” Disney Parks’ description of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure reads. “Along the way, you’ll meet familiar faces, make new friends and be transported to the next chapter of Tiana’s inspiring story.”
In addition to returning characters like Tiana, Louie, Prince Naveen, Louie and Mama Odie, Disney has also created a host of new creatures to appear on the ride who will help Tiana throw the world’s best Mardi Gras party. These include Byhalia the Beaver, Gritty the Rabbit, Bo the Opossum, Apollo the Raccoon, Rufus the Turtle, Timoleon the Otter, Octavia the Bobcat, Claude the Louisiana Black Bear, Felipe the Frog and many more. And of course, merchandise featuring these adorable new creatures will be available for purchase at Frontierland’s new Critter Co-op Store.
There are also plenty of ways to celebrate the delicious treat known as a beignet. Golden Oak Outpost and The Friar’s Nook will be selling beignets on opening day, wafting their aroma into the lines as you wait to ride the attractions.
Speaking of queuing for the attraction, guests can listen to a New Orleans radio station playing jazz versions of popular songs from The Princess and the Frog, including “Down in New Orleans” and “Ma Belle Evangeline.” Additionally, guests can hear a rendition of Louis Armstrong’s “Something About New Orleans” performed by Leah Chase Jr., daughter of the person inspired by The Princess and the Frog.
If all of this doesn’t help you wait for “Tiana’s Bayou Adventure,” which drops on June 28, check out where “The Princess and the Frog” and “Tiana” rank on our lists of the best Disney animated movies and Disney princesses, respectively.
