Genevieve Page, a French cinema legend with a career of 60 years, passed away in Paris on Friday. thr Report. She was 97 years old.
Born to the nobility and the goddess of Christian Dior, Page played piano as a child and took the stage in 1943.
She made her first film, “Pas de Pitié Pour Les Femmes,” in 1951. Working in the UK, Italy, and sometimes in the US and in her hometown of France, she has been working in the film “Fanfan La Turipe” (1952), “Foreign Conspiracy” (1956), and the star-studded “El Cid.” appeared in various works such as “(1961).
Playing opposite Catherine DeNuve in director Louis Buñuel’s classic “Bell de Jours” (1967), Page plays Madame kissing the blonde icon in a controversial scene.
She again acted on the other side of Deneuve in “Meierling” (1968), and in 1970 took on her most famous English role. Holmes (1970).
One of her subsequent performances came to Robert Altman’s comedy Beyond Therapy (1987).
Page continued to work on stage until 1998 and 2003.
She was preceded in 2011 by her husband of Jean Claude Boujad, her husband of over 50 years, and survived by two children.
