On Tuesday, Anne Hathaway chatted with Mona Kosar Abdi of “Extra” at the New York premiere of her new romantic comedy, “She Come to Me.”
Anne spoke about the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike and is grateful to be able to promote this independent film under a tentative agreement.
She said: “I am fighting a really important fight right now…I know my fellow union members very well and I am fighting alongside them. I’m very, very grateful to be able to come and support independent film, and to have a tentative agreement with an artist like Rebecca Miller to support her vision. It took years and years to make. She took years and years.”
Commenting on what attracted her to the script, Anne said: I’m not trying to make you feel anything right away… it’s not formulaic. I think that’s the word I’m looking for. It’s a movie that takes time. It establishes its character. It sets its own reality. ”
She talked about her relationship with her character, who is outwardly very decent but faces some conflicts. Ann recalled: She said, “I had a hard time with the traffic tonight…I’m trying to calm her down now.”
He added: “I think Patricia puts a lot of pressure on herself. There are a lot of very real stakes for her early on in life and she has to succeed because people are counting on her.” She had a career that she wanted to establish and she wanted to be successful, but it was because she denied accepting herself, her own humanity. I think it’s coming.”
Anne also spoke about her Versace Icon campaign: I absolutely love Donatella, especially given the decades of work they’ve done in her LGBTQIA field. I couldn’t be more excited that they see me as someone who can represent the values of their brand, and I love the clothes. ”
