One college student learned a valuable lesson even before he set foot on campus.
TikToker’s Zandrox (@zandrox_) says he forgot to confirm his housing assignment for a dorm room, leaving him without a place to live even though his parents helped him move.
His video, which had more than 227,700 views by Tuesday afternoon, shows his parents driving him to campus, not knowing he is homeless.

“I really don’t know what to do,” he captioned a video of himself, showing him looking nervous as his parents drove him to college.
“So…how am I going to tell my parents that I just realized I forgot to confirm my housing assignment…” Zandrox wrote in the text overlay. “And now you’re two years old [on the way] I go to campus with literally everything I own, and when I get there I have nowhere to go…”
The Daily Dot reached out to Xandrox through a TikTok comment.
One commentator said many college students have housing problems because they don’t read their emails.
“I swear I’ve never seen so many people have a problem like this until TikTok came along,” they commented. “Do people not read their emails?”
A school administration official said: I can’t wait to see how this turns out. As an administrator, I am not without sympathy, but it is shocking how many people do not check or read. ”
A third said her daughter had made the same mistake. She said, “My daughter did the same thing last year. She never read the email and assumed she had a room because she received a security deposit. It’s on the list.”
Like Xandrox, some were wondering what to do. One person shared, “He doesn’t know what to say.”
Zandrox has provided a positive update on the situation.
In response to a comment, he wrote, “Right now they’re putting me in a makeshift dormitory, but thankfully my roommate from last year is alone. Hope to move in tomorrow.”
