Between the Meltdown near Colorado and Friday’s game, the Washington Nationals have been in the thriller so far this season. But this comeback victory over the Mets is a victory of the season.
Mitchell Parker didn’t have his A, B, or C game today, so the Washingtonian looked dead underwater from the jump. His orders were everywhere. The Southpaw couldn’t find a fastball and was not bitten by his curves at all.
Parker put nuts in 5-0 holes 4 walks, 3 hits The first bottom. Even the outs he was getting was a productive sack fly. It took 43 pitch For Parker to pass the first inning. Parker could have easily left, but he ended up giving the Nationals five important innings.
It wasn’t pretty and he gave up two more runs along the way, but Mitchell Parker is credited with saving the bullpen and limiting the damage after the tragic first. Even if Natt lost, Parker would have survived the five.
Parker was shattering the game without getting close to his best, but the attacks were almost dormant. The only exception was Dillankru Homer in two innings, making it 6-1.
The crew’s passionate stay seemed to be the only positive thing coming out of this game. However, as we argue, it was far from the case.
In the meantime, NAT had many issues with Tylor Megill. Heading into the seventh inning, crew Homer and Alex Colewalk were all Nat could convene.
But the highly malicious B bullpen was giving the Nats the opportunity to do something. Lucas Sims strengthened his first innings before he ran into trouble on his second job. To my surprise, Colin Pouch came with the runners with the empty runners and left without running. Pouch made the much-needed double play of groundball before hitting the troublesome Lewis Torrence.
To begin the seventh, Nats took a break. Juan Soto lost the flyball in the sun, and Luis Garcia Jr. hust to turn it into a double. A struggling Josh Bell drove him with a single laser beam.
That would be for Tyler Megill. However, the score was still 7-2, making it look like a comfortable victory for the Mets. That point is strengthened when he attacks Dylan’s crew to begin his outing.
However, Alex Cole and Jose Tena will be singled to keep Riley Adams’ innings alive and make it a 7-3 game. Adams appeared to have been lost at the plate throughout the season with his sparse playing time. But he is always a threat to Homer when he meets Homer. The big catcher did that when Jose Buto ditched the heater just under the pipe. Adams didn’t miss it and quickly made it into a new ball game with a bat swing.
After a 1-2-3 inning from Jackson Rutledge, Natt returned to business after a leadoff double from James Wood. After Lewis Garcia Junior Tupper and Nathaniel Low Walk, one by one, for Josh Bell. Bell had rough with bats hitting on three pitches.
After Dylan’s crew was attacked, Jose Tena loaded the base and stepped up to the plate with the chance to become a hero. However, he slammed the soft liner and put Huascar Brozoban and Mets out of the innings.
Jackson Rutledge was unstable on his second job, allowing the first two runners to reach the base. After the wild pitch, it was second and third, but there was no one there. However, Rutledge got two ground balls. Jorge Lopez came and seduced yet another ground to get out of the jam. It leaves everything at the ninth bottom for all marble.
Ultra clutch Alex Cole scored a leadoff double to start the frame. Alex Cole needs to play more. The lineup is much stronger than Jacob Young. He reached base three times today.
Despite hitting Three Run Homer, which brought Nats back into the game, Riley Adams was a pinch hit by bringing Keibert Ruiz into the game. Keibert was very professional in the bat, moving the runner to the second base on the ground ball 3 base.
It raised CJ Abrams, who had had a tough day to that point. He was 0-4 at 3k up until that point. Soon, the Nationals’ shortstop threw flames and fell 1-2. However, after fighting some very tough pitches, he drove the splitter through the infield to tie the game together.
After James Woodwalk, Lewis Garcia Jr. stepped into the plate. It was already a turbulent day for Nibase. His double, when Juan Soto lost in the sun, began this rally. He also made a great catch early in the game.
But here we are at the bottom of the ninth, one and the second man. Contrary to all possibilities, the Nationals are not only in this game, but they have a chance to win.
Garcia hit a deep ground ball in his first base, making it a troublesome play for Pete Alonso. He defeated the pitcher Stanek, which became too troublesome for him to leave. CJ Abrams competed at home for the second time in three days, winning the Nationals.
This game was its best baseball. The Nationals showed a Die attitude that fans never say they’ll fall in love with the game. They continued to fight and were missing until they finally got the job done. Washingtonians should not have been rejected this afternoon.
