“I have breast cancer,” the 37-year-old said in a video posted to the popular show. YouTube channel.
“It’s so shocking. It’s so surreal. It doesn’t sound real, but it’s real,” Grace said, adding that she found it “about a month ago.”
Grace said she had “triple-positive breast cancer” and was optimistic about her prognosis.
“Every doctor, medical professional, or anyone who knows anything about cancer says it’s very treatable and very conquerable,” she explained. “We’re here for cure, not remission. It’s exciting, it’s reassuring, it’s beneficial, it’s good.”
She went on to say that doctors believe it’s stage 2A at this point, but “we’re not 100% sure.”
The treatment regimen includes “six rounds of chemotherapy, followed by surgery, followed by hormone therapy.”
Helbig said having a “very clear treatment plan” “helps” her.
She indicated that she had a port placed in her arm in preparation for an upcoming chemo round.

“I really had to talk to myself to tell her about this at the appointment. But maybe it was just musculature.Thank God I listened to that little voice inside of me and finally got the courage to tell her.”
Helbig was immediately sent for a biopsy after having a mammogram and an ultrasound. She added that she already felt something was wrong with her even before the doctor who performed her biopsy told her she had breast cancer.
“This whole thing has been rough, to say the least,” Grace said. “I was feeling all sorts of emotions all day. I am so grateful to have an amazing husband and amazing family and friends who have already been so supportive.”
With her sense of humor intact, she joked about recently taking her marriage vows.
“Elliot and I got married last fall, and I kept the sick and healthy part of our vows strong,” she said.
Grace ended the video by declaring that she will fight cancer as best she can.
“This is my job now.
