Euphoria’s efforts to satisfy customers with a wider variety of makeup shades may have backfired.
TikToker Toni Bravo (@bonitravo) gave her take on the whole ordeal in a video that has over 819,500 views as of publication.
“Guys, remember when Euphoria participated in this activity last year?” the woman begins in the clip.
Last year, the beauty brand faced criticism after launching its long-awaited cosmetics range.
Many beauty bloggers of color criticized the brand for not having enough shade variety. Matches various skin tones. It was the “date night” foundation that received the most criticism. The brand, which launched in 2021, promised that the product would be its most innovative formula. It also claimed to be buildable and good for sensitive skin.
However, many were not impressed with the number of shades the company offers for darker skin tones.
The foundation was available in 15 colors, but initially it only included four medium to dark shades.
This led to backlash online from black beauty bloggers who felt like the company wasn’t catering to people with darker skin tones.
Since then, the brand has released new shades, but it seems some customers aren’t happy with their attempts to please.
“This is their darkest shade,” Bravo said while showing viewers the shade labeled 600.
She noticed that the previous shade was labeled 570.
“That jump is kind of crazy,” she said.
Still, the TikToker decided to try out the shade to see how it would blend with her skin tone.
“It’s literally black,” Bravo said of the darkest shade.
The second darkest shade was a relatively light brown.
“I guess she said, ‘Here you go,'” the TikToker added, mocking the company’s attempts to placate customers.

The comments section was also filled with unimpressed TikTok users.
“I sincerely wish nothing but failure and disgrace for Euphoria,” user you said.
was the most popular comment.
“This feels like weaponized incompetence,” user Thelma said.
Another viewer added: “Obviously malicious compliance. Even if…”
