It was Sterling K. Brown and his wife Ryan’s date night at the 2024 Oscars, where Sterling was nominated for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in American Fiction.
Billie had to ask about Brown’s recent reunion with her “This Is Us” co-stars. photo shoot, But Sterling balked, saying, “We’re just having fun. We’ll teach you right away.”
However, the couple announced some news about their new podcast and spoke candidly about their relationship.
“It’s called ‘We Don’t Always Agree,’ but as you can tell, there’s a lot to it,” Sterling said of the podcast. Ryan smiled and added: “Because we don’t always agree.”
Billy asked, “Do we ever go to bed crazy?”
Sterling confessed, “I mean, maybe sometimes…I try not to…It’s not like I don’t go to bed and be next to her…We have a spare bedroom, so sometimes… I’m like, “You know what?” I’m going to get some air, but we’ll see in the morning. ”
Ryan claimed, “It’s usually because you’re hot,” explaining that he gets hot and she’s “always cold.”
She added, “I was trying to give you some heat…but he was like, ‘I love you,’ and I said, ‘You’re hot.’ He was like, ‘Yeah…you can get off me. ‘Is that so?’ he added.
Ryan continued, “The best part was when I was so cold that I stuck my icicle feet under his feet and he was like, ‘Aaaah!'” Ta.
“I can’t win, I can’t win,” Brown insisted.
And although he ultimately didn’t win the Oscar, he opened up about how “cool” it was to be nominated.
Sterling said, “I don’t think I ever expected this to happen…I was happy with the work and I loved the movie. When they actually said my name, I was like, ‘Oh, wow. I thought, ‘That’s really cool.'” “”
Billy asked if he expressed his life. “I believe I live a life divinely set up for success,” Brown said. “God had something in store for me and He put me here to fail.” I believe that this is not the case.”
Billy also spoke with his American Fiction co-star Jeffrey Wright, who was nominated for Best Actor but lost to Cillian Murphy, and Jeffrey said he thought American Fiction was a leading actor nominee when it came to race and inclusion. Reflecting on the “difficult conversations” he had, he said: It asks people to “think about these issues and laugh at the same time.”
The 2024 Oscars are currently being broadcast on ABC.
