Prince Harry returns to London and appeals to the court to strengthen his safety.
Harry claims that the palace underprotected his family after he and his wife Meghan Markle resigned as senior royals in 2020. He has been fighting for more safety since 2021.
The prince was in court on Tuesday, appealing the UK High Court judge’s 2024 decision, upheld the government’s panel to “made-to-order” or provide security if necessary.
His lawyer, Shaheed Fatima, told the court on Tuesday: “The appellant does not accept that the bespoke means better. In fact, in his submission, it means that he was chosen for a different, unjust, inferior treatment.”
According to ReutersHarry’s legal team also gave examples of security threats in written submissions, including Al Qaeda, which calls for him to be killed, and time for him and Meghan to be involved in “tracking dangerous cars with paparazzi in New York City” in 2023.
New York Times Report In 2022, Harry offered to pay for security himself, but after government lawyers opposed the wealthy people could “buy” security guards, he lost the fight in court.
The prince flew to England on Sunday, but it is unclear whether King Charles met his father before he left England for a state visit to Italy.
