A new true crime documentary book on shelves takes a look at some of Beverly Hills’ most shocking cases.
Written by former local newspaper reporter and longtime entertainment journalist Scott Huber, “Beverly Hills Noir: The Crimes, Sins & Scandals of 90210” takes readers on a century-spanning journey through some of the city’s most notorious crimes.
Huber told Extra, “After years of researching crimes throughout Beverly Hills’ glamorous history, we found that, as always with Beverly Hills, 90210, there was a wealth of crimes to choose from. For Beverly Hills Noire, we zeroed in on our favorite crimes from each era, each with their own unique atmosphere and mystique. Some were sensational at the time but have since faded into memory but have proven worthy of a deeper, more immersive look, while others were briefly topical but have their own unique, outrageous, ‘only in Beverly Hills’ twists. Some feature celebrities in central roles as perpetrators and victims, and all feature pop culture icons in supporting roles.”
He added, “Murder mysteries, flashy robberies, violent love triangles, bar brawls, hostage disputes, celebrity flirtations… when it comes to crime, just like in real life, Beverly Hills has it all.”
“Beverly Hills Noir” It will be published by Post Hill Press on October 1st and distributed by Simon & Schuster. Pre-order the book here.
