Kevin Costner goes from Hollywood superstar to Hurricane hero! He’s lending a helping hand by releasing a new song, “Find Your Way,” with his band Kevin Costner & Modern West.
“Extra’s” Billy Bush caught up with the Western “Horizon” star to give an update and talk about making music to help victims of Hurricane Helen and Hurricane Milton.
Kevin is one of Hollywood’s most bankable stars, with his films grossing nearly $3 billion at the box office. However, the first installment of his four-part Horizon saga was not a box office hit, as Starr invested $38 million of his own money into the project.
Costner told Billy he had no regrets.
“My choices are my choices. They don’t always run with the crowd,” he said, “but I keep following them.” That’s where I was. And I want to start the third one. ”

When Billy asked if the sequel would be released in theaters, Kevin replied: But now that the movie is finished, we’re looking for the perfect place to release it…This is an American novel for us, really…We want people to see it. It’s a throwback movie. ”
When asked how difficult it is to not compromise, Costner replied: That feels different to me. I am confident in what I want to do. And there are also convictions about how people will feel when they see it. And there are moments that are special, and there are moments that make you think, “I understand why he made this movie, he made it for me.” I think so. ”
Regarding past comments about feeling like you’re constantly pushing a rock up a hill, Kevin said it doesn’t feel good.
“I want a mythical billionaire,” he claims, adding, “I know what it’s like to gamble everything. I’ve gambled everything. Billionaires don’t gamble that much. No. But there weren’t really any investors who said, “I believe in your American storytelling,” so what should I do? Do you like daisies? Or just look at yourself. Even if you press the center, it won’t blink. ”
Now, he’s on a mission to give back to hurricane victims, releasing the band’s first song in four years, “Find Your Way.”
He said, “This wasn’t written specifically for this…Sometimes people lose everything, and that’s what happened…People from North Carolina, Florida went to see my movie. They supported me. And this little thing I can do is, if people come to me. facebook… Instagram…If the song doesn’t hurt your ears and makes a difference, you can donate. They can donate whatever they want…It’s the idea that we all have the ability to make a difference. I think this song speaks loud to you…I think it speaks to people…When it’s a little dark outside and a little scary, we can’t afford to wilt, so we have to have some faith and look must be able to point towards the horizon. “
Billy said it was a beautiful song, but Kevin revealed that he hasn’t even released half of the songs he’s written.

“I don’t know what exactly is wrong with me,” he said. “I don’t know how to monetize my life other than to go out and do something.”
Billy commented on Kevin’s background during a Zoom call that “monetization is there,” but Kevin told him: There are great things in my life, but I don’t want them to limit me from pursuing other things that are in front of me, so in some cases I’ve put what I have at risk. ”
He continued, “I’m going to risk some things, I’m going to make sure I take care of my kids, I’m going to make sure they’re okay. But this big thing that I’ve been building. The mountains can’t hold me back…good things have happened to me. I just hope this little song gets through to people…you can use it however you like. … I appreciate the people there.”
When Billy asked him what helps him persevere in the dark, Costner said: Characters who pick themselves up off the ground and move on, and I think, oh, that’s who I need…When things don’t go well, I just look at my life like a movie. ‘what are you going to do? you go to work. There are people around you who are hurting, so be sure to look out for them and try not to pout too much. ”I don’t understand the pain around me… I learned a lot of how I should behave from movies. ”
