Lately, the high prices of Chipotle meals have been a hot topic on the internet.

According to reports Eat this, not that!Chipotle has consistently raised prices over the years, citing labor costs and raw material prices as reasons for the changes.

This steady price increase has not gone unnoticed by customers, who are feeling the pinch every time they visit a restaurant.

But price is not the only issue. Chipotle is currently under heavy criticism online. This is because customers have noticed a significant reduction in their portion sizes and are now receiving much less food than before.

Given that customers have long praised the Mexican-style chain restaurant for its hearty portions, this perceived drop in value for money has particularly angered Chipotle fans, with some calling for a boycott. .

Chipotle on a budget

Given these high prices and declining quantities, it’s no wonder some people are discussing workarounds to find ways to continue eating at chain restaurants without breaking the bank.

For example, a recent TikTok video went viral after Chipotle customers shared a “hack” to get free drinks.

In the video, TikTok user Austin (@aus2smooth) is seen grabbing a small sauce container and pouring himself a drink at a free refill station at a Chipotle restaurant.

In the caption, he wrote, “Never buy a drink when you go to Chipotle…”

The video has been popular, with 1.7 million views as of Monday afternoon.

TikTok is clearly aimed at humor, but there are several reasons why people relate to it.

Recently, some Chipotle patrons claim they were refused water cups at the restaurant.

When customers asked why, servers often said it was because many people were abusing the policy to fill their cups with free soda. This frustrates customers who feel unfairly penalized for the actions of a few.

In the comments section of the TikTok video, most users took the video as a joke. However, some admitted to having done the same thing, while others shared their own free drink hacks.

“When the worker says no water cups,” one user wrote.

Another commenter thinks their hack is even better, saying, “They’re putting Stanley’s cup in there…”

A third user was relieved and wrote: “So glad I’m not alone.”

The Daily Dot reached out to Austin via Instagram direct message and Chipotle via email for further comment.
