He also said that the early prototyping phase is expected to begin in April this year. Although specific details about the two devices have not been revealed, he may be referring to Apple’s first foldable iPhone, rumored to feature an internal display of up to 8 inches and a foldable iPad with a screen size of up to 19 inches.
PU said the 2025 iPhone shipping forecast is expected to be “lukewarm” due to Apple postponing its personalized SIRI features until sometime next year.
Looking forward to it, he expects the introduction of foldable devices to bolster Foxconn’s business in 2026. Speculation on foldable iPhones and iPads has been around for a few years now, and it appears that these devices are finally approaching launch, assuming that they will not end up with any significant obstacles.
Depending on the exact timing of mass production in late 2026, the device could be released later next year or 2027. Recently, a leak has emerged regarding the iPhone 17, featuring the expected model metal type.
Before the new iPhone generation is released, speculations are usually surged about potential changes, particularly with cameras.
