A woman staying in a luxury hotel while on holiday in Queensland was shocked by the ‘selfish’ and ‘insane’ behavior by a fellow guest.
On a now viral TikTok, Melbourne native Emily Cooper was staying at Brisbane’s Instagram-famous Khalil Hotel when she saw other hotel patrons trying to book pool sunbeds at dawn. I took a picture.
This video shows people engaging in a “sunbed war” at 5:45 in the morning by placing towels and other personal items on the daybed.

Hotel guests are seen walking in and out of the pool, leaving their belongings and reserving sunbeds, with all seats occupied by 6:52am.
When asked by a TikTok user why Cooper got to the pool so early, she said: Stay near the pool! ”
“I’ve seen people leave towels out for three hours during the day… someone could have used the towel during that time and come back and sit somewhere else. It’s so selfish,” said one user.
Another said: i love bogan best entertainment”
Many were embarrassed by the idea of waking up so early during a relaxing vacation.
“Who wakes up so early on holidays?” asked one user.
Another agreed and said, “This is insane!”
The Calile Hotel website has a daybed policy.
“If a daybed has not been used for more than 15 minutes, it will be reassigned by the pool service team to a guest waiting for a daybed.”
