The Washington Nationals outlook drove off with Mets Farm Hand in the spring breakout game. These showcases are very fun ideas that MLB came up with. This allows fans to see prospects that they normally don’t have the chance to see. There are a few things I’ve seen from today’s game.
Nationals starter Alex Clemmy looked very good. His ones looked crisp with fastballs in the 95-97 mile range and mixed into some nasty broken balls. left handed It was launched 6 in his 3 innings work. He appeared to feature two different destructive balls, but there was a curve from the mid-80s and a slider up from the mid-80s. He threw a few changeups, but they weren’t very good.
Clemmay was the biggest piece the Nationals received at Lane Thomas Trade. He was still raw and was able to use some work on his strike throw. But he’s only 19 years old and something like that is great. After giving up Homer to Boston Barro, he got out of the jam with two big strikeouts.
2024 Round 4 Jackson Kent followed him on the mound. With 93-96 mph heaters and some nice changeups, things were promising. However, he got into some trouble and things started to unravel.
2024 14th Rounder Yoel Tejada also pitched. He actually looked very good. The right-hander got a lot of whims with his sweeping slider.
The Nationals bats were mostly restrained, as one run suggests. But there were some positive things I saw. The 10th overall picksea barking put together some nice stuff for bats and got two hits. One was an infield single, while the other was a beautiful single between one base hand and the second base hand. King also looked smooth with shortstop.
Elijah Green also performed today. He didn’t get a hit, but I saw some good things. He hit his second time with the bat, but it was clearly annoyed. However, he bouncing off and went for a 1-2 late walk. I watched him choking on two strikes.
Overall, the game was a lot of fun and it was great to see some of these people living in the body. I’ve never seen most of these guys perform live before, so it was good to see them and how they looked on diamonds. It was a fun experience and it was cool to see the young talent of the Nationals.
