Troll has quietly been a huge success for Netflix. The Norwegian disaster fantasy film directed by Roa Uthaug introduced audiences to the interesting world of Norwegian folklore and left us with interesting hints about what will happen next.

On September 19, 2023, it was Confirmed Director Rohr Uthaug will reportedly direct the sequel. Screenwriter Espen Orkan and producers Espen Horn and Christian Strand Sinkeld are also participating. Production is likely to begin in 2024. It could be scheduled for release in late 2024 or early 2025.

“Trolls” still holds the title of the biggest non-English film in Netflix history. The film topped the viewing charts on both the New Girl’s 91 Day Index and the Old Girl’s 28 Day Index. In his first 91 days streaming on the platform, “Trolls” racked up his 178.6 million views. This equates to her 103 million views.

The film took viewers on an adventure across Norway, where military and scientific minds grappled with the awakened presence of trolls. This fascinating movie ended with a mysterious scene and some questions that may be answered in the sequel, Trolls 2.
