President Biden has asked for more than $100 billion in the name of national security. His request fails to address America’s biggest national security risk: our wide-open southern border.
Republicans and Democrats have opposing views on what is needed at the border. Republicans want to stop the influx of illegal immigrants. The Democratic Party wants to smooth the flow.
Democrats want to spend tax dollars on sanctuary cities and social services for illegal immigrants. Republicans want to complete the wall, increase funding for Border Patrol agents and implement substantive policy changes.
Our line in the sand is the Rio Grande.
National security begins with border security. The president and Senate Democrats don’t seem to believe this simple truth.

When Biden ran for president, he promised to “bring all the people seeking asylum to the border.” Since he took office, the number of illegal immigrants has continued to surge by the millions.
The US-Mexico border is now the world’s most dangerous border. Borders attract criminals, smugglers and terrorist suspects.
The number of people dying or going missing at the border is comparable to mass shootings every week.
Last month, the number of people caught crossing illegally rose to nearly 241,000. October was the worst month on record for illegal border crossings.
A staggering 8.4 million total illegal aliens crossed the border during the first three years of the Biden administration. This includes 279 people on the FBI’s terrorist watch list.
This is a national security crisis. But the United States is only beginning to realize how dire this border disaster is.
By election day next year, a wave of 10 million people from all over the world will flood into our country. How many terrorists are there? How many criminals are there? How many people are bringing in the fentanyl that is killing Americans in record numbers? How many children are trafficked? Democrats don’t know and don’t seem to care.
In fact, Senate Democrats are doing nothing about this crisis.
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer has not introduced any legislation to stem the flow of illegal immigration or deadly drugs.
Border Patrol announces social media suspension to deal with migrant surge
When I visited the southern border last month, Border Patrol agents said the Senate Democrats had not shown up. A small number of companies focus on immigrant comfort and quick release.
Democrats have no policy whatsoever to secure our borders and have no interest in stopping illegal immigration. It’s embarrassing.
You have to ask why Democrats would allow this.
Senate Republicans want to strengthen the southern border. We have solutions to make our country safer.

Earlier this month, we outlined effective policy solutions to stem the flow of illegal immigration and deadly drugs into our country. These solutions include completing the border wall, DNA testing to stop child traffickers from exploiting children, and reinstating the successful Remain in Mexico policy. The sooner these common-sense policies become law, the safer our country will be.
Embarrassingly, instead of considering these proven solutions, Senator Schumer prefers to do nothing. He criticized the Republican proposal as “a total non-starter” for Democrats.

Senator Schumer needs to face reality. Rolling out the welcome mat for illegal immigrants has done great damage to this country. If you ask Sen. Schumer’s hometown mayor, Eric Adams, he says a flood of illegal immigrants is “destroying” New York City.
Americans are feeling the weight of Biden’s border disaster. Thousands of Americans have lost loved ones to fentanyl and are feeling the heartache. The threat of terrorist attacks is growing, as recent warnings from the Department of Homeland Security demonstrate.
This is a deadly serious situation. The Democratic Party’s open borders policy created this. President Biden’s supplemental budget request will make the situation even worse.
As the world becomes increasingly dangerous, true border security has become a top national priority. Republicans have solutions to make our country safer. These measures must be included in a national security bill submitted to the president. Without these, national security-related legislation will not be enacted.
