The Catawba Science Center will officially debut a new exhibit on July 10, 2024: Expanding Horizons: The Solar System & Beyond, a permanent exhibit in the Hall of Astronomy just outside the Milholland Planetarium. Explore the solar system and learn about space travel, how we got here, where we’re going, and how new technology will help us get there. Get ready to expand your horizons as immersive exhibits like the Mars Pod help visitors experience what life on the Red Planet is like.

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to fly to Mars? Find out in Destination Mars, a new planetarium show sponsored by John and Eileen Leach. Destination Mars: The New Frontier offers an up-close look at humanity’s most ambitious endeavor, and is narrated by former NASA astronaut Mae Jemison – not to be missed! For more information about this exciting new exhibit and planetarium show, visit www.CatawbaScience.org/Hall-of-Astronomy.

This exhibit is made possible in part through the support of our sponsors: The Candler Foundation, the Cannon Foundation, the George Foundation, the TSH Charitable Foundation, the O. Leonard Moretz Family Foundation, and the Science Museum of North Carolina Grants Program.

The Catawba Science Center is open Wednesday through Saturday from 10am to 4pm and Sunday from 1pm to 4pm. For more information, visit www.CatawbaScience.org.
