This Saturday, June 29th, family, friends and supporters of Johnny Wactor will host “A Mile for Johnny,” a tribute to the “General Hospital” actor, who passed away last month.
The event, which is open to the public, calls for justice and accountability from city and state leaders to make Los Angeles a safer place to live.
“A Mile for Johnny” will take place at 11 a.m. at North Hollywood Park, where Wachter ran daily.
In late May, Wachter was shot and killed by a car thief in downtown Los Angeles as she was walking home from her shift as a bartender at Level 8.
No arrests have been made.
“Extra’s” Melvin Roberts recently caught up with Johnny’s brother, Grant, and asked him how it felt to step foot in the place where the tragedy happened.
“It’s hard,” he said. “It’s the numbing anger and sadness, but it’s also hard to process and understand.”
He continued, “You never want to take anyone’s life, but it’s especially painful when it’s your brother, someone you love, someone pure in heart.”
Mr Grant attended the rally calling for justice.
