Jamie Foxx has opened up about his health scare last year.
The actor revealed the new details while speaking to a group of people outside a Phoenix cafe.
He explains: “It was April 11th of last year. I had a terrible headache. I asked my son for some ibuprofen.”
“I was missing for 20 days. I don’t remember anything,” Fox said, snapping her fingers.
He continued, “So they told me, I’m in Atlanta. So they told me that my sister and her daughter took me to the first doctor. They gave me a cortisone shot.”
Jamie continued, “The next doctor said, ‘There’s something going on over there,'” pointing to his head. “I won’t say this on camera, but… it’s…” at which point the video cuts off.
Foxx spoke about his mystery illness while accepting the AAFCA Producer Award on March 3.
Fox told the audience that she was in a “difficult situation” after a medical emergency, saying, “Cherish life. Words can’t describe it. I have some people in my life that really cared about making sure I was here.”
Jamie revealed that he plans to explain to the world what happened to him in an upcoming stand-up comedy special. He said: “Everyone wants to know what happened, so I’m going to tell you what happened, but I’ve got to tell it in my own way.”
He joked, “I’m going to do it in a funny way. I’m going to be on stage. I’m going back to my stand-up comedy roots.”
Jamie underwent a medical emergency while filming “Back in Action,” which also stars Cameron Diaz.
Questions and rumors had been circulating for months about what caused Jamie’s sudden hospitalization, and his recovery included physical rehabilitation at a Chicago facility that specializes in stroke recovery.
