Hunter Biden, President Joe Biden’s son who was convicted and is awaiting sentencing, has been vigorously advising his father to continue his campaign, which could undermine the president’s ability to mock former President Donald Trump’s criminal record during the campaign.

“All Americans should be deeply concerned that Biden family cronies are in the White House, especially at a time of heightened international tensions with the Chinese Communist Party,” Mike Howell, executive director of the Heritage Foundation Oversight Project, told Fox News Digital on Thursday.

“Given that the current administration appears to be in the final days of its existence, we are concerned that many requests from foreign actors with influence over Biden are being considered while he is still in power,” Howell said.

Hunter Biden was convicted last month of three felony counts related to a 2018 handgun purchase.

And independent voters overwhelmingly supported Trump’s description of former President Hunter Biden as a “convicted felon” during last week’s CNN presidential debate, despite Biden’s recent conviction in a Manhattan hush-money trial, according to Fox News Digital’s Focus Dial Group.

“when [President Biden] “He’s talking about a convicted felon. His son is a convicted felon,” Trump said at the debate. “At a very high level, his son has been convicted and will probably be convicted many times in the future and should have been convicted before.”

His approval rating among Democrats trended downward throughout the poll, while his approval rating among Republicans and independents rose throughout Trump’s speech.

As panic spread within the Democratic Party after Biden’s lackluster performance against Trump after the debate, Biden’s family has rallied around him and Hunter Biden has emerged as a key adviser, one media outlet reported. The president’s son, along with First Lady Jill Biden, reportedly encouraged him to see it through to November, while other family members, including his grandson, have also expressed a desire to do more to support the campaign, with the latter suggesting reaching out to influencers on social media.

“Hunter Biden wants to show the American people the fighting, fact-ready father he knows, not the shambling, aging president they saw on Thursday night,” the report said, noting that the president’s son has been one of his most trusted advisers “for a long time.”
