Forget the affirmation. Hollywood’s most popular and heart-warming beating is all acts of service. Specifically, food service.

I’m talking about Glenn Powell. Glenn Powell steadily climbed ranks and became a genuine film star. If he has his easy charm (and his shirtless moment) Anyone other than you Didn’t beat you, maybe his sturdy, country boy sw walking as a tornado wrangler Twister did. Or maybe it was the way he accepted it. Those Viral Capybara Memes As he walks, he also has a wonderful, carefree sense of humor.

Whatever the reason, there’s no denying that Powell has the factor in that refreshing attitude that made him a fan favorite. So when I started to grab lunch with him to grab lunch…and discuss the very sexy topic of seasoning, I was confused. As you know, Powell is setting up his own line, Smash Kitchen.

On a sunny Tuesday afternoon in New York City, I joined the actor and drizzled over a casual lunch featuring his favorite American classics, sliders with ketchup, hot pretzels with Dijon mustard, mini BLT paired with spicy mayonnaise, and of course a barbecue sauce. (That last dish is the name of Brisket, the famous dog on his Instagram. He couldn’t join us, but Powell was happy to show the photo on his phone.) Of course, all the sauces on the table were Powell’s own creations. Alongside traditional ketchup and mustard, Smash Kitchen debuts with more creative condiments such as hot honey ketchup, organic spicy mayonnaise and hot honey barbecue sauce.

Powell, a mixed bag of media forks invited to taste Glenn’s sauce as he eats with us, talks with enthusiasm and excitement about each snack, combining the bite with a pleasant, personal anecdote. For example, consider ketchup. “I used to eat a lot of ketchup,” says Powell. “I was a sophomore high school sophomore in the Buddy family and he had a sister. They were sleeping out at the same time we did, so we slept outside on the trampoline. At this point, everyone around him was laughing. He captivated us all. “After that, I couldn’t eat ketchup for years or years,” he adds. That is until he creates himself.

Powell may not be known (yet) for his culinary skills, but as a proud Texan he quickly points out that he knows one or two things about quality flavors. “In Austin, no one is going to pay $15 for a bottle of ketchup,” he points out frankly. And despite his love for authentic Texan cuisine, the actor admits that he has never found a barbecue sauce that really hits Mark.
