Her horrifying account of the murder of famous hairdresser Fabio Semenrii is why his sister Lori Pipillo celebrates her conviction in a 2017 conspiracy to kill him in a house shared with his daughters.
On Friday, ju judges found 53-year-old Monica Sementiri guilty of one count of murder, with a special circumstance claim that the murder was done for financial gain and lying while waiting, and one count of a murder, with one allegation of conspiracy to commit the murder. The verdict came after approximately 8 hours and 45 minutes of deliberation over three days.
She is scheduled to be sentenced June 23rd and faces life in prison without the possibility of parole.
Prosecutors said Monica and her co-defendant, former porn actor Robert Baker, “conspired to kill 49-year-old Fabio Semenriri, who was involved in a romantic event.” The two wanted to raise money for life insurance as part of their motivation.
Monica Semenrili, who claimed that her lover had no plans to kill her husband, was seen sobing out of control when the verdict was read.
Her team confirmed that she would appeal.
Outside the courtroom, “Extra” spoke only with Lori and Fabio’s other beloved sister, Milela Semenriri, and gained a response to the decision.
Milera said she felt “excited.” She continued. “It’s absolutely amazing. Well, it feels like you’re floating around, and today will always be a very special day. And I hope that one day you’ll even overwhelm the day of his death. It’s a celebration day for our family.”
She got emotional and wanted people to know about her brother, and shared that he was “a very bold and amazing brother. He loved him and he was very traditional.”
Lori said, “He always wanted to see us and he really admired his sisters.”
Millera’s message about Monica was, “She’s the monster of my nightmare. She’s been around since my brother left.”
Loli rang “Justice has been served today.”
On January 23, 2017, Fabio Sementilli was sitting on a patio in Woodland Hills, California, $2 million. The vehicle was found to have been abandoned, and police initially suspected the murder was the result of the house breaking incorrectly.
Baker, a convicted sex offender, previously refused to admit a first-degree murder conflict and was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
Chris Austin, who saved Baker in a stab wound, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in exchange for testimony. Austin was declared in April and faced 16 years behind the bar.
