Dollywood wins favorite theme park award, plus best ride

Dollywood has added another top award to its trophy case.

Pigeon Forge is National Amusement Park Historical SocietyIt surpassed Disney World and Disneyland.

Dollywood received the honor from the association. 38th Amusement Park and Attraction SurveyThe company also awarded Dollywood’s Big Bear Mountain roller coaster its award for Best New Attraction of 2023.

Disney World in Florida was named the second best theme park, with California’s Disneyland coming in third.

Dollywood President Eugene Norton said the theme park’s success is due to a quality guest experience and Dollywood’s investments in building new attractions and improving existing ones.

“Check out the Dolly Parton Experience, which opened less than two weeks ago,” Norton said in a news release. “It’s an industry-leading offering that joins two incredible attractions we added last year: Big Bear Mountain, the industry’s best new attraction, and Heartsong Lodge & Resort, one of the finest resort properties of any theme park.”

The survey is open to eligible association members, who are experienced theme park enthusiasts who, on average, have visited over 100 theme parks and experienced over 340 roller coasters around the world.

Pigeon Forge Theme Park has been busy winning top industry awards, especially over the past decade, including the 2023 Golden Ticket Award for Best Theme Park in the World.
