Philippine authorities believe YouTuber Elliott Eastman, 26, has died after being kidnapped in Mindanao on October 17th.

According to new york timesEastman was forcibly taken from his home by men posing as police. As he tried to escape, he was shot in the leg and taken to a boat. He then also suffered a gunshot wound to his abdomen.
Now, the Philippine National Police has told the Times that four suspects have been arrested in the case, one of whom law enforcement believes Eastman died on the day of the kidnapping.
Based on the man’s testimony, police now believe he died on the boat and his body was thrown overboard.

Elliott, a Vermont native, acknowledged that the area where he lived wasn’t necessarily safe for foreigners. He titled a video he released in February, “Living in the most dangerous area in the Philippines. Red Zone.” It was labeled as “I did.”
