Timothée Chalamet explores the origins of iconic chocolate maker Willy Wonka.

Warner Bros. releases trailer for highly anticipated musical fantasy movie Wonkastarring French heartthrob Timothée Chalamet as the iconic chocolatier, and adapted from author Roald Dahl’s 1964 children’s novel charlie and the chocolate factory.

The 27-year-old star took audiences into a world of imagination.

The next installment follows the adventures of young and chaotic Willy Wonka, who meets the Oompa Loompas in his quest to become an extraordinary chocolate maker.

The two-and-a-half-minute long trailer opens with Timothée Chalamet calling himself “something like a magician, inventor, chocolatier.”

The trailer shows Willie dreaming of owning his own chocolate shop but having to confront the chocolate cartel and befriending an orphan girl. Jim Carter warns young Willie, “If you don’t sell chocolate, you can’t open a store. And if you don’t have a store, you can’t sell chocolate.” Hugh Grant also makes a cameo in the trailer as a cheeky Oompa-Loompa.

The film stars Olivia Colman, Keegan-Michael Key, Sally Hawkins, Matthew Bainton, Rowan Atkinson, Simon Farnaby, Matt Lucas, Jim Carter and more.

Conducted by Paul King Wonka will hit theaters on December 15, 2023.
