A woman who is recovering from a car accident in which she hit the “ceiling” of the car she was driving with her husband and broke multiple bones has issued a PSA.
A TikTok video warning about what is considered a harmless activity was posted by creator @dsaenz94. The post was posted to the platform on Saturday and has garnered more than 894,000 views and nearly 86,000 likes as of Sunday.
In it, the author, who wears a neck brace, sits in a wheelchair, and has other braces on her arms and legs, talks about the horrific car accident she and her husband were involved in six weeks ago. The accident in Iowa caused her to fracture her humerus, cervical vertebrae, tibia, and fibula.

Based on her experience with the accident, she issued a PSA saying, “Do not put your feet on the dashboard.” If she meets a serious accident like hers, she may suffer unexpected complications.
She begins the video by saying that six months before the accident, she watched a video from “a woman who worked in a morgue or something” and that she did it because “I saw a hip break.” Passengers were advised not to put their feet on the dashboard. ”
The producer revealed that he stopped practicing for a while because of the video, but then went back to it and things got even more complicated during the accident.
“My right foot got stuck between the dashboard and the window,” she revealed. “And then we woke up and we woke up on the ceiling. It was like we were literally on the ceiling because we were upside down and it felt like our feet were stuck. .That was the pain I felt. And it’s just crazy. You just don’t think it’s going to happen to you until it happens to you.”
First responders on the scene were able to pry the dashboard out of the window and free her legs, she said. But she also noted that weeks later her husband found glass in her still-healing foot.
She repeatedly told the National Police Agency, “Don’t put your foot on the dashboard,” and added, “I guess you think it won’t happen to you. You thought you wouldn’t get into an accident.” Like…I’ve never been in a car accident. I’ve never broken a bone.”
Commenters had their thoughts on this disappointing story.
“The moral of the story is to always do what the undertaker lady says,” one person joked.
Another said, “Everyone says, ‘I don’t think it’s going to happen to me,’ but I just don’t understand it. I always think it’s going to happen to me.” .

So while one person answered, “I’ve never put my foot on someone else’s dashboard,” he admitted, “But I do it myself, because it takes the pressure off my lower back.” . But I don’t think this is worth it. ”
Another commenter added: “My husband is in the car industry and will die eventually.” [on] This hill. Never put your feet outside the dashboard or window. thank you for sharing! ”
As such, another person revealed: “My husband has been a FF/EMT for 40 years. He has seen many situations like this and worse.”
