Bad Boys’ Will Smith and Martin Lawrence are returning to star in Bad Boys: Ride or Die, the fourth installment of the popular series.
The two met with Melvin Robert of “Extra” and expressed their gratitude for the junket experience.
Will expressed his gratitude for the experience he gained working on his latest film and thanked his co-stars. “Martin literally stopped me on the first day of this movie,” Will said. Now that we’re down to Part 4, we’re going to enjoy every second of it, okay?”
Martin said in unison, “We did it.”
Mel said: “And one of the things you said is this is not a victory lap.”
“Yes, absolutely not,” Will agreed, adding: “After ‘Bad Boys 2,’ we agreed that we would never return to this series without having a story worthy of it. We made sure the movie stood on its own.” We wanted to do more than just say, “People love this movie, so we’re going to take a victory lap.”
“Then you put something out there to grab some money,” Martin said.
“You guys have been doing this for 30 years now. What do you know about each other now that you didn’t know 30 years ago?” Mel said.
Martin replied: Because he’s seen him grow up. From The Fresh Prince to the movies and what he’s accomplished, I’m really impressed, really impressed. ”
Will said: “When it comes to Martin, how genuine and open-minded is he? There’s no pretense about that guy, you know? And I think he’s calm and resolute and [have] There is nothing wrong with saying what is absolutely true in his heart. ”
Speaking of solidity, Mel asked Lawrence, “Martin, where would you ride or die?”
“My best friend, Larry White,” he added, “my brother, Sean Lumpkin, who just recently passed away, they were all do-or-die for me. “He’s my best friend and everything. We grew up together and everything.” ”
He went on to say that Will is his movie Ride or Die.
Will said: “I have never in my life looked left, looked right, and not died on a ride. I have been blessed by DJ Jazzy Jeff and my lifelong manager and partner since day one. We went to high school together, and my sons, James Lassiter, Charlie Mack, and Omar, are still with me all the way to Alfonso. [Ribeiro] And The Fresh Prince, and you know James Avery, and I always had to ride or die. ”
He also revealed about his wife, “Jada they’re come, ride or die.”

And Will yelled, “Ride last or die.” “You know, what I want to say is something that’s probably never been said on any of this junket. In terms of ride or die, you know, Sony’s studio head, Tom Rothman was one of the most ride-or-die guys I’ve ever met in this industry, and you know how much he supported me, and you know, very much. That’s rare.”

“You hear actors talking about the head of the studio, and I want you to know his name,” Will recalled.
Mel asked if the preparation for the fourth Bad Boys movie had changed significantly compared to the preparation for the first one decades ago.
“Yeah,” Will allowed. “I did a lot of different knee exercises. You know what? Yes, I use my knees. And thigh exercises.”
Martin revealed, “Will trained himself. I trained myself.”
“He started secretly. He was secretly training,” Will teased.
“We were trying to surprise him. He started gaining weight when he started working…They gave us really good food,” Martin said.
Obstacles during filming included a writer’s and actor’s strike, as well as co-star Vanessa Hudgens’ pregnancy.
Martin said everything fell into place thanks to the “magic of movies.”
Will said: “Vanessa…she got pregnant during the strike and then it took us six or seven months to get back to work…toward finishing the movie, she was…standing behind something in every scene. .”

The big question after seeing Will at Coachella is: Will we get to see his new music?
“As you know, I’ve been in the lab for the past year and a half,” Will said in the episode. The music I’ve made so far…so I’ll give you a sneak peek of it in about a month. ”
Will said he was no longer nervous about the movie being canceled. “I don’t think I was ‘nervous’ because I know the movie is good…I was nervous when I was doing the interviews for ‘Wild Wild West’ and when that movie was showing. “come out [in 1999].But you know…we were watching [‘Bad Boys: Ride or Die’] There’s a big audience and things like that, this movie is a rock concert. People cheer, clap, and laugh. So if you know the movie is good, it’s a lot easier to press. ”
“Bad Boys: Ride or Die” will be released in theaters on June 7th.
