The data was collected from Popmenu’s anonymous national survey of 1,000 U.S. consumers conducted Nov. 17-18.
Restaurateurs point to a growing trend toward water and non-alcoholic beverages among consumers, with more than half (55%) of restaurateurs saying they expect guests to drink water rather than other beverages. Reports that it is selected.

When asked about their favorite cocktail during the holiday season, one in four consumers said the margarita was their most popular choice. Pop Menu says Whiskey Sour, Mimosa, Bloody Mary and Old Fashioned round out the top five. When ordering a cocktail, 46% of consumers specified the top liquor.
Meanwhile, among those who order alcoholic beverages at restaurants, drinks containing hard liquor were ranked the most (41%). Tequila and vodka were chosen most often. 35% of consumers chose beer when ordering alcohol, 21% ordered wine, and 3% ordered another type of alcohol.
According to Popmenu, nearly one in five consumers (18%) have ordered an alcoholic beverage to-go from a restaurant. 53% of consumers said they had never ordered alcohol to-go but would consider it.
More than half (58%) of restaurant owners said their purchases of non-alcoholic beverages remained the same compared to last year. 24% said it had increased, and 19% said it had decreased. The survey found that most operators (59%) offer mocktails and non-alcoholic versions of beer, wine and spirits.
When it comes to non-alcoholic options, soft drinks are the most popular choice, with 51% of consumers choosing them. Tea and water were also top choices.
When it comes to drinking water in restaurants, 42% of consumers prefer tap water, 30% prefer bottled water, 8% prefer sparkling water, and 20% of consumers say they don’t drink water at restaurants. .
