In a series of posts on Truth Social late Friday night, President Trump suggested that “corporate greed” is the main reason why prices remain high, and went after Biden, who is likely to be his overall rival. .
“Incredibly, Crooked Joe appeared on TV last week and declared in an interview that Americans could actually afford that brutal inflation tax. His remarks refer to remarks made by Biden in a sit-down interview with CNN last week. The incumbent suggested he is “committed” to reining in companies on what he calls “shrinkflation.”

In the run-up to the general election, various polls found that Americans trust Trump more than Biden on the economy and his handling of inflation. About 46% of Americans say they trust the former president on the economy, and 32% say the same about Biden, according to an ABC News/Ipsos poll released in early May.
In another post on Truth Social, Mr. Trump also criticized Mr. Biden for the inability of young Americans to make rent, car payments, or buy a home.
