Four-time NBA champion Stephen Curry is already planning his life after basketball.

The 10-time NBA All-Star spoke on CNBC’s “Squawk on the Street” on Tuesday about the remainder of his basketball career, his various business ventures and his goals after his playing career ends.

Curry, 36, runs a media company. Unanimous MediaYouth Golf Tours, UnderratedHe told CNBC he’d also be interested in owning an NBA team in the future.

“For me, it’s definitely an option,” Curry said. “I think I can contribute to what’s great about the NBA right now and what it takes to run a championship team.”

The star shooter just signed a one-year, $62.6 million contract extension to play with the Golden State Warriors through 2027. The deal expires when Curry turns 39. The guard, who led the U.S. men’s basketball team to a gold medal at the Olympics in Paris last month, said he still has a lot to look forward to in NBA basketball.

“I know I still have a lot to accomplish on the court before I move on to other roles in the league,” he said.

Curry said he became interested in ownership after learning that former NBA superstar Michael Jordan had previously owned the Charlotte Hornets and that the league might expand in the coming years.

NBA Commissioner Adam Silver in July The league will consider expansion after it finalizes its media deal. The league signed a new 11-year contract in July worth about $77 billion that goes into effect after next season.

Curry’s longtime rival and Olympic teammate, LeBron James, has also expressed interest in team ownership. Las Vegas Franchise rights are granted.

Curry said Golden State Warriors owners Joe Lacob and Peter Guber set the standard for how players should be treated and that he saw firsthand how to run a world-class organization.

“Investing in creating a first-class experience that makes us feel cared for allows us to play basketball at a high level,” he said.
