SOLON, Ohio (WJW) – Solon Police arrested a 20-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy earlier this month in an investigation into counterfeit money circulating in the city.
A 19-year-old Solon man told police he was scammed while selling an iMac computer through Facebook Marketplace, according to a news release from Solon Police Lt. William Vaidich.

The following Tuesday, Feb. 6, an employee at a Mobil gas station on Aurora Road said he was given a counterfeit $20 bill while selling a video game console via Facebook Marketplace.
Police found a 17-year-old boy in possession of an e-cigarette and suspected marijuana, and also seized 13 counterfeit $20 bills marked “For Movie Use,” Vajdic said. .
Police said he was accompanied by Christian Turner, 20, of Solon, who was arrested on a charge of felony forgery.
After the boy was transported to city police, he was released to his parents and monitored by a juvenile police officer.
After his arraignment on February 7, Turner posted 10% of his $5,000 bail, according to court records. He is scheduled to return to court on February 28th.
