Singapore Airlines has offered to pay compensation to people injured on a flight from London to Singapore that encountered severe turbulence.
The airline said in a social media post that it was offering to pay $10,000 (£7,800) to passengers who suffered minor injuries.
For passengers with more serious injuries, the airline will offer “an advance of $25,000 to address their immediate needs” and further discussions to address “their particular circumstances.”
In May, one British passenger was killed and dozens were injured when flight SQ321 encountered turbulence over Myanmar and landed in Thailand.
In early investigations, The plane accelerated rapidly up and downThe plane fell approximately 178 feet (54 meters) in 4.6 seconds. Passengers who were not wearing seat belts were thrown from their seats and injured.
At the time of the accident, there were 211 passengers and 18 crew members on board the Boeing 777-300ER.
The airline said it would provide full refunds to all passengers on the flight, including those who were not injured.
Singapore Airlines also said passengers would receive delay compensation in accordance with European Union or UK regulations.
The airline also offered each passenger 1,000 Singapore dollars ($739, £580) to cover immediate expenses and arranged for their families to fly to the Thai capital if requested.
