“Our deepest pathetic dol means his family and loved ones during this difficult time,” Samsung said.
Han, one of the four executive directors of Samsung’s board of directors, held the company’s annual shareholders meeting in Suwon, South Korea just a week ago, asking questions about the decline in the company’s stock performance.
The company said Jun Young-Hyun, who was appointed co-CEO last November, will be its only CEO.
Last year, Samsung announced changes to its memory and casting chip division leadership amid a fierce competition in the semiconductor space, appointing Jun as co-CEO and head of the memory chip arm.
