Today, I spotted a new dessert, Rapunzel Sundae, at Storybook Treats in Fantasyland at Magic Kingdom. Please give it a try.

Rapunzel Sunday – $7.79

Shortcake with doll whipped lemon and wild berry soft serve, topped with berry compote and sugar flower

Storybook treats are located in Fantasyland near Friar’s Nook, across from the Seven Dwarf Mine Train.

The sundae combines wild berries and lemon doll whipped soft serve on a shortcake base. Berries and whipped cream are also topped.

Let’s dig in!

Rapunzel sundae is the perfect refreshing treat on a hot day. The lemon flavor gives it a tangy kick, a good kind of acidity that makes things interesting. Wildberry soft serve adds a delicious raspberry flavor to the mix. This sundae is topped with fresh blueberries and strawberries in syrup, with a crunchy shortcake underneath.

Personally, I would have liked more crunch in the form of ice cream cones or cookies instead of shortcake. The melted ice cream and shortcake are a little too sticky, so you have to eat them quickly. This sundae is definitely a delicious treat, but eat it quickly before it all melts.
