Bryson DeChambeau won his second U.S. Open title with a spectacular finish on the 18th hole at Pinehurst.
DeChambeau made a great third shot from the bunker on the 18th hole and made the tournament-winning par putt.
He made par on the 18th hole to wrap up the victory and avoid a playoff against Rory McIlroy, who missed several key putts late in the final round.
McIlroy bogeyed three of the final four holes to drop to second place. Patrick Cantlay and Tony Finau tied for third, and Mathieu Pavon completed the top five.

DeChambeau and McIlroy were locked in a fierce battle throughout the back nine on Sunday.
McIlroy made four consecutive birdies on the next five holes, from the ninth to the thirteenth, to improve to eight under par.
DeChambeau appeared to be in trouble after a bogey on the 12th hole, but bounced back with a birdie on the 13th hole.
The drama then escalated on the second hole at Pinehurst, when DeChambeau and McIlroy each missed short par putts on the 15th hole, but the mistakes seemed to end there for McIlroy, the eventual U.S. Open champion.
McIlroy continued to make mistakes on the green at the 16th and 18th holes, resulting in bogeys and his penultimate putt of the tournament denying him a chance to win his first major title in 10 years.
DeChambeau still had work to do on the 18th hole to avoid a playoff: His drive missed the fairway and his second shot went into a bunker.
He recovered from his mistake and hit the shot of his life, sinking the par putt to win the tournament.
DeChambeau’s final round score of 71 was actually his worst of the week, but he had enough power to fend off all other challengers over 18 holes.
Patrick Cantlay tied for third place with Tony Finau for his best finish in a major tournament. Cantlay’s other third-place finish came at the 2019 PGA Championship. Finau’s finish was his second top-three in a major tournament and his first top-five in a major tournament since the 2020 PGA Championship.
It was Pavon’s first top-five finish in a major tournament, finishing 12th at the Masters in April.
