A new ‘Little Mermaid’ milkshake inspired by the live-action film has hit the Hollywood Scoop at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. And it has a weird flavor profile that might divide opinion.

I stopped by The Hollywood Scoop today on Sunset Boulevard at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and noticed they had a new milkshake to celebrate the release of the live-action The Little Mermaid. Of course, we decided to give it a try, just to let you know what we think.
The milkshake itself is visually stunning. It features blue and purple tones that mimic the ocean. I thought the amount of fresh cream was overwhelming. As soon as I was handed the milkshake, whipped cream started falling from the side of the cup.
The blue and purple sugar dusted on the rim was lovely.
When I took my first sip, I noticed that the most prominent flavor was ginger. The taste of ginger is very strong, so if you don’t like ginger, don’t use it. After a few more sips, it started to taste like mango. Guava is listed as an ingredient but could not be detected.
This tasted mostly like a ginger and vanilla milkshake, which I found to be an odd combination.
A seashell cake topper wrapped in lavender fondant. Unfortunately, with so much whipped cream on top, it quickly sank into the milkshake.
The cake itself was very moist. Visually it looks like a red velvet cake, but it really isn’t. We found the cake terrible. It was described as a pineapple and guava flavor, but I didn’t try either flavor. It tasted very bland. I honestly thought it tasted like a regular vanilla cupcake.
Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this milkshake unless you’re buying it solely for its aesthetic appeal.
