Memphis, Tennessee (WREG) – it is Childhood Cancer Awareness Monthand one teenager working to raise awareness and funds for non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital By breaking records.
On Tuesday, Yisan Guo fastened his seatbelt and prepared to take off, beginning to spread the “Journey of Hope Around the World”.
Guo is 18 years old and a self-taught aviator. He’s aiming for new heights to become the youngest single man to travel the world in a light aircraft. In his Cessna 182 he will visit 35 countries on 6 continents in 60 days.
“I’ve been preparing for this trip for four or five years, ever since I started working on my private pilot’s license. That was when I was 13,” he said.
But now he no longer dreams. He floats in the clouds with a special message.
“I can turn this attention to something that needs attention: childhood cancer. Childhood cancer still needs attention. They are doing a great job of helping patients,” Guo said.
Nearly 400,000 children worldwide have been diagnosed with some form of cancer, including Ethan’s 18-year-old cousin, who was diagnosed with stage 4 non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.

“The money will go to St. Jude, and St. Jude will use the money to save lives. The money will be invested in patient care and research shared around the world.” .
Ethan is going to visit St. Jude Global Foundations in as many places as possible. He hopes this will lead to more research into childhood cancer.
“No matter what country we are in, where we are, who we are with, we are all together. it won’t,” he said.
