A Malaysia Airlines passenger plane from Sydney, Australia to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, was forced to turn less than two hours into the flight after a mid-air accident involving what witnesses described as a “crazy” passenger. Ta.
Flight MH122, operated by Malaysia Airlines, took off from Sydney at 1:40pm local time and landed at the Australian airport at 3:47pm. 9 news.
A passenger who said he was on the plane shared several images of the alleged incident on X, formerly known as Twitter. He added that the unidentified passenger, whom he called a “madman” and a “stupid”, displayed alarming behavior from the start.


“This man should have been stopped at the gate before boarding. His behavior was unsettling from the beginning,” she wrote, sharing an image of the man.
The same passenger added that those on the plane were moved to the back for safety reasons and the man was eventually handcuffed by police.
sydney airport spokesperson wrote to X On Monday, officials said they were “currently assisting emergency agencies in dealing with incidents at the airport.”
“The airport is operational and flights are arriving and departing. Passengers are encouraged to check directly with the airline regarding flight status,” he added.
At the same time, the Australian Federal Police wrote to X that police officers were responding to an “emergency” at the airport. More detailed information will be provided at a later date, he added.
